How many books have you written? If more than one, are any a series… or trilogy?

I’m working on many books right now. Most have been in progress for years because I only create one illustration per year, or write one story for the series.

Wolves of Whitewater Falls, Eagles of Whitewater, Bow Wow Detectives®, Meow Meow Detectives™, Robinwood Ridge, and my Christian Dystopian releasing in a few weeks, First Christmas in Eden, #1, 8H: Eight Horsemen of Equinox Estuary, the book trailers are on my site.

Tell us a little about your book.

Winter Bugs is a documentary filmed on the grounds of a former ghost town, the town of Beaver, Minnesota. The land was repurchased by the State and returned to its natural appearance. I was working on my Walk the Burn documentary and was looking for a subject to include for that day. I couldn’t find anything. It was very cold, -37 below, and it was snowing, and I had to keep moving, looking. I finally came to rest on a tree, and asked God to help me, I refused to go home without finding something. When I leaned off the tree there were several red box elder bugs staring up at me. They were my answer for the day and the inspiration for writing a book on insect life in winter. If these little nymphs could be out in this kind of weather I wondered what else was out there and decided to take the entire winter season to document what I could find. For the record: I found over 300+ species in various stages of their life.

Do you have plans for a new book?

I’m working on several now. I have spent 12 years in the valley documenting several species, eagles, bear, cougar, white-tail deer, Giant Canada Geese, a Muscovy Duck in the wild, more. I plan on putting these out over the next several years.

Is there an Author that you would really like to meet?

I meet authors every week on my radio show for Book Divas, and I love meeting them all. I really do get to meet some of the worlds greatest talent, I’m forever grateful for the experiences. I don’t care if people are new or established, we all have stories to share.

Do you plot or write by the seat of your pants?

I am usually sitting down with zero thought to what I’m about to write. I can write up 2K words a half hour to 45 minutes, sometimes 3K if the chapter is flowing. The most I ever wrote was 36K words in one day, literally 24 hours, with only a couple short breaks. I won’t attempt that again.

Winter Bugs: Ten Year Anniversary Edition is a documentary filmed in the Whitewater Management Area on the land where the former town of Beaver, Minnesota once stood. A real Minnesota ghost town now shrouded by insects and wildlife who live and die each year, but as this books shows, death doesn’t always come during winter.
